Emergency Helpline Opening Hours
The helpline available for the most vulnerable in the community is back open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 11am to 2pm on weekends following its reduced bank holiday opening times.

The hotline number is 0161 770 7007 and is available for those unable to leave the house and don't have a trusted friend, neighbour or family member to help them.

Positive Steps
Positive Steps, who deliver the Careers Service, Youth Justice Service, Missing from Home Service and elements of Early Help provision in Oldham, are playing a vital role during the Covid 19 crisis.

We are still open and you can still get support in many areas including:

  • Career guidance
  • Stopping smoking
  • Early Help
  • Substance Misuse for young people
  • Sexual Health Service for young people
  • Young Carers

To get in touch, telephone, text, video chat and online website chat support is available to all service users. For information visit www.positive-steps.org.uk

Pharmacy Deliveries
While patients meeting the COVID-19 shielding criteria need to stay at home and away from community pharmacy and dispensing doctor premises, they must be offered a home delivery option for their prescription items unless a family member, friend, relative or volunteer can collect the medicine for them.

Medicines delivery services from both pharmacies and dispensing doctors across England are available now until 1 July 2020 in the first instance but may be extended as necessary as part of the COVID-19 response.

Protect Yourself From Scams
Criminals are using the current Coronavirus pandemic to try and trick people into handing over money and or personal information.

This leaflet contains helpful information to help protect residents from fraud and scammers. Please read it and share the information with your friends and family.

Free School Meals Vouchers
We have been made aware that some parents in Oldham have had trouble accessing the Government’s voucher website over the Easter weekend to order vouchers for the Easter period.

The website was experiencing a high volume of enquiries and was closed for maintenance issues.

www.edenred.co.uk

If you are still having trouble with the site and are struggling to provide for your child then schools via the Local Authority are still running a packed lunch service through the Easter holidays and into next term.

Young People’s Mental Health

If you are worried about your young person’s mental health consider Kooth – the online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people aged 11 to 18 years which is available across Oldham.

The service is available Monday to Friday 9am to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 6 to 10pm.
