We remember a time when the Republican Party went absolutely nuclear over a football player kneeling in silent protest during the National Anthem.

We remember when they’d claim you were either with them, or with the terrorists.

We remember people so performatively patriotic that they would rail against anyone who didn’t meet their standards.

Now, they fly the flag that generations of Americans fought and died to protect upside down because their dear leader was afforded his Constitutional rights in a court of law.

They never believed in the idea of America or the ideals that flag stands for. It was never about our democracy, our civil rights, or patriotism. It was only ever about them and their own pursuit of power for power’s sake.

Newsflash: No one in the United States is above the law. If you are willing to disrespect the flag over Trump’s vanity then you are no patriot — and we are coming for you.
