** Celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month
------------------------------------------------------------

We kicked off this meaningful month fresh from our first in-person Youth Leadership Summit in three years! I always value the chance to engage with the next generation of Asian American leaders, and come away from my conversations with student leaders either having learned something or feeling re-energized.

The month of May is one we eagerly anticipate, as it offers us opportunities to share our mission far and wide.

Throughout AANHPI Heritage Month we're embracing the art of storytelling, weaving our past into the fabric of our future advocacy. This month is not just about reflection; it's about finding connections within our community, our work, and the world around us.

We're proud to work in multiracial coalitions, recognizing the strength in unity. We use the resilience of our communities and shared history as a guiding light, and central lesson.

And we have exciting news to share: as a testament to or commitment to serving our diverse community, we've added Punjabi to our voter hotline ([link removed]) ! Now, you can access in-language assistance for all your voting-related queries in 10 different Asian languages including Tagalog, Cantonese, Urdu, Mandarin, Hindi, English and more.

Let's continue to uplift and honor the uniqueness within the AANHPI demographic, celebrating our heritage and shaping a brighter tomorrow together.

** Resilience in Response to Anti-Asian Harassment Training To Be Offered in Thirteen Asian Languages
------------------------------------------------------------

“By equipping community-based organizations to deliver the training in different Asian languages, we aim to bring this training to audiences we have not yet reached, including members of our community who may not have found the online format easily accessible. We also hope that offering training in-person will create opportunities for dialogue about the harassment that Asian Americans continue to face and the solutions that the community feels are needed.” Read the Full Statement ([link removed])

Asian Americans Advancing Justice – AAJC published two complementary reports highlighting specific inequities facing Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities regarding access to the internet and access to digital tools and literacy: Digital Literacy in the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Communities ([link removed]) and Digital Divide in the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Communities ([link removed]) .

Advancing Justice – AAJC’s research is among the first to focus on in-language polling using phone surveying to offer new insights about the experiences of digital access in AANHPI communities that similar studies have previously obscured. The reports unpack the reality of what digital literacy and broadband access looks like for many in the AANHPI community and reveal that there is work to be done to improve digital access and literacy in these communities.
