| Darlene Delk-GlennVirginia Portsmouth Health Department- MRC Coordinator As an MRC Coordinator for a city that has a high crime and drug problem, it has been my goal to give something to the city of Portsmouth Virginia that can be useful to the people that live here. Gun violence has increased in young people and sounds of gun shots can be heard during the day and night. Seeing someone that has been shot, stabbed, or severely assaulted has become something that more people can say they have experienced. I want to offer mothers, fathers, neighbors a skill that may give a person a chance to survive until help arrives. I became a STOP THE BLEED® instructor to educate the community and offer it a chance for more of their friends, family, or neighbors to survive these encounters. |
