Join Women In International Security (WIIS) and the Embassy of Liechtenstein on
June 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM (EST) for a virtual discussion on how arms control, non-proliferation, and disarmament efforts are impacted by gender inequality. Much discussion has focused on women’s representation and participation in decision-making processes and negotiations, but discussions about the impact of weapons on women and girls must also address their harmful effects. This event will present experts on gender and chemical and biological weapons to find new ways of acknowledging the gendered impact of chemical and biological weapons, the state of arms control and nonproliferation of these weapons, and possible ways of advancing the policy debate and outcomes in the field.
