Aloha 2024 Hawaii Republican candidates and hopeful,
Congratulations to the 32 candidates who have officially filed with the Office of Elections as of Friday, 5/31/2024.
For the other 35 prospective candidates, please be aware that for some reason (and we’re trying to figure that out), many voter registration have been marked INACTIVE. This may affect the signatures that you have already collected, or maybe your eligibility to file. Rep Diamond Garcia filed on Friday, but was told that his own voter registration was INACTIVE.
Of the 66 partisan offices up for election, we have 67 Republican candidates for 42 positions. There are still 24 uncontested offices that have no prospective Republican candidates. If you know anyone interested in being a candidate for these positions, please let them know. It takes 15 signatures and $25 to file (with spending restrictions). I’d be happy to assist with anyone who hasn’t filed for candidacy yet. The following positions are still open:
