It's time to hit the trails

Friend-we're in the final hours of our
National Trails Day match, and we really hope you're still with
us.

By doubling your first gift today, you'll fuel monumental
projects, expand access to the outdoors, and create spaces for
communities to come together for generations to come.

DOUBLE MY FIRST GIFT

In an ever more disconnected world, trails are where joggers and
cyclists share routes with dog walkers and hiking families, where
plants and wildlife flourish, and where we all feel a little more at
ease as we breathe the fresh air.

Every $1 you donate connects someone to the outdoors.

Sincerely,
Josh VanDavier

P.S. We do our best not to send messages to members who just made a
gift, but sometimes our records don't update fast enough to keep
recent donors from receiving a message like this. So, if you did just
give, thank you for your support, and our apologies for the extra
request!

Friend, Happy National Trails Day!

Our team is celebrating the trails across the country that help bring
communities together in myriad ways. And right now, you can still
double your impact to support this incredible work. Thanks to a
generous gift from Conservation Champion Alan Penczek, every gift will
be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000 through midnight, June
2.

DOUBLE MY GIFT

TPL's Director of National Trails Initiatives, J.T. Horn, speaks
enthusiastically about creating backcountry trails, but also
repurposing existing infrastructure into carbon-free transportation
corridors: "Trails are one of the ways we deliver great open
space in cities and rural communities," he says. "If
you're thinking about laying out a trail in an urban landscape,
existing linear features such as rail lines and utility rights-of-way
are one of the best ways to connect people, get them out of their
cars, achieve climate benefits, and increase access." Plus, he
adds, "when we are doing our best work, we can reunite
communities by changing the original narratives written by many rail
lines that historically divided communities."

From The 606 in Chicago, a former elevated rail line through an
industrial stretch of the city's northwest side, to Bizz Johnson
National Recreation Trail in Northern California, and the
Cuyahoga-Lake Link Trail in Cleveland, we've amassed the
country's second-most prolific portfolio of rail trail projects.

Your support ensures that these trails, greenspaces, and public lands
continue to bring communities together-and remain places we can
access freely. Make sure your annual membership gift will be doubled
by giving before midnight on Sunday.

The next, most inspiring project we work on is waiting for your
matched support. Thanks for being a part of it.

Sincerely,
