Dear John:
Minnesota's Seventh District is feeling the pain from Biden's failed border policies, from human trafficking to gun smuggling to the tragic rise in fentanyl overdoses. You don't often see coverage on the issues at the northern border, but there has been a huge increase in illegal immigrants coming over through Canada as well. This week, I joined the House Judiciary Committee in Grand Forks, ND, for a hearing on "The Border Crisis: North Dakota Perspectives," where witnesses told us multiple times that the lack of border security and enforcement of immigration laws is directly impacting the well-being of our communities. This was a great opportunity for other Members to hear our concerns and take that information back to Washington.

Biden has the opportunity to change this and he can do it right now, but so far, he has refused. We need to return to the Trump Administration's policies to properly manage both the northern and the southern border. That includes empowering the Customs and Border Patrol agents to do their job effectively so we can keep the crossings open for economic and personal use while putting a stop to illegal activity.
