Lesko Events

On Monday, I attended a Memorial Day ceremony in Sun City, where we reflected on the lives of those who have fallen in defense of our country, and to celebrate their continued legacies. May we always heed the wise words of President Abraham Lincoln, when he said, “We here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain.”

Get the Facts: Trump New York City Verdict

Like many of you, I was outraged over this unjust, un-American, and unconstitutional verdict against President Donald J. Trump that was announced earlier this week. This case should never have gone to trial, yet a left-wing prosecutor and judge took it upon themselves to trample our Constitution and American system of justice. Despite this outcome, I believe that an appeals court will restore order to this partisan trial court that has displayed a reckless abandon for the law and the rights of the accused. Let us remember this prosecution is part of a pattern that began against President Trump before he first stepped into the White House. As someone who defended President Trump against the repeated attempts to undermine his presidency, including the impeachment of 2019, I am again filled with grief for our nation. Our sacred justice system is being ransacked by radicals seeking to destroy America’s values and history for their own political gain. I fear that, with this result and the avalanche of politically motivated cases against President Trump, the United States is at a breaking point – both in our political and legal systems. I will continue to pray for our nation and all our leaders in the days and months ahead.

Casework Highlight

A constituent filed her 2021 taxes on time but had still not received the return by the beginning of 2024. Frustrated, she contacted our office, and we inquired with the IRS to find out where her refund was. Through our inquiry, the agency was able to locate the refund and release it to the constituent, to include interest from the backlog, totaling $13,020.66.

Military Academy Nominations

As a member of Congress, I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. This would include nominating candidates for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. For more information click here.
