I know what effective advocacy looks like, because I've seen it up close. Before I came to the Children's Defense Fund to serve as the Director of Poverty Policy, I worked on Capitol Hill for the better part of a decade helping craft and advance legislation to help families in need.
That's how I know the immense impact that the Children's Defense Fund's advocacy has on shaping decisions that are made in Congress. Our nation's leaders rely on groups like CDF to understand how policy changes will affect children. That's why the advocacy work supported by the Children in Crisis Fund is so critical right now.
