John,
Climate news stories can sometimes make you think that it’s impossible to make any progress. Fortunately, our SEEC Members are tenacious and are willing to look for every possible opportunity, no matter how small, to make forward progress on climate.
For example, this week our SEEC Members on the House Armed Services Committee passed amendments to the 2025 defense bill to promote climate resilience in our military and reduce chemical contamination.
Our SEEC climate champions are still making progress despite Republicans who want to block our progress! Will you chip in now to help us continue getting the job done in Congress? [[link removed]]
SUPPORT OUR SEEC MEMBERS » [[link removed] ]Here’s what we were able to accomplish in just one committee hearing:
Rep. Jennifer McClellan (VA) passed amendments to require the Pentagon to report on the costs of extreme weather on military installations and lay out a plan for the military to comply with the EPA’s recently finalized drinking water standards.
Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA) passed amendments to speed up the Pentagon’s efforts to meet requirements for energy resilience and energy security and bolster the domestic supply chain for power and distribution transformers.
And Rep. Jill Tokuda (HI) led an effort to pass an amendment to support the recycling and reuse of minerals and metals by the military.
Without our SEEC members on these committees, we would not be able to continue making this sort of holistic progress. That’s why your support is so critical. Will you please send in a donation before our end-of-month deadline to help us support our SEEC climate champions in competitive races and continue making progress together? [[link removed]]

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
