That's right, John. Former President Donald Trump has been convicted by a jury of his peers on 34 felony counts related to his "hush money" trial; he now stands as the first former president in U.S. history to be a convicted felon.

This trial exposed what we have always known: Trump’s corruption knows no bounds, and he will do anything to gain power.

But this isn't just about hush money. It’s about a pattern of deceit and greed that extends far beyond his actions in this case.

Just last month, Trump sat down with Big Oil executives and presented them with a quid pro quo: give his campaign $1 billion, and he’ll reverse President Biden’s environmental policies on DAY ONE of his second term. Yes, you read that right. In a room full of billionaires who’ve made their fortunes on the back of a burning planet, Trump was making dirty deals to sell out our future for his own political gain.

And a couple of weeks later, two Big Oil billionaires, Harold Hamm, “the Fracking King” and Kelcy Warren, the tycoon behind the Dakota Access Pipeline, made good on that promise by throwing a massive fundraiser for Trump in Texas.

It's clear that Donald Trump's corruption runs deep, and his alliance with the fossil fuel industry is a direct threat to our climate and our future.
