Team, in just a couple of weeks, the DACA program will turn 12 years old.
Back in June 2012, immigrant youth fought like hell to win DACA — a life-saving program that has opened doors to better paying jobs, educational opportunities, and temporary protections from deportation for some undocumented people.
But even after 12 years, DACA is still at risk of being overturned in the courts. Our elected officials haven't done anything to fully and permanently protect immigrant people, instead giving credence to more anti-immigrant attacks. And the protections immigrant youth fought so hard for 12 years ago are in jeopardy.
That’s why we’re taking action around this anniversary. After 12 years of DACA, we’re hosting a week of action to mobilize immigrant youth, activists, and allies around the country to demand more than just band-aid solutions. We’ll be gathering in DC to hold a press conference and apply pressure on Congress to deliver.
But we can’t do it without you.
We’re setting a grassroots fundraising goal of raising $12,000 leading up to the 12th anniversary to help lift up our critical work advocating for permanent protections for all 11 million people living under the fear of detention and deportation.
Will you help us reach our goal and renew our fight for permanent protections before DACA’s 12-year anniversary by chipping in $12 (or more!) today?

When Judge Hanen first struck down the DACA program and closed the program to new applicants, we immediately went on the offense to support DACA recipients. We launched a full-scale effort to challenge the anti-immigrant decision, ensure that applicants knew their rights, and demand that our elected officials do better than band-aid solutions like DACA.
Now, nearly three years later, our fight is likely headed back to the Supreme Court. That’s the story of DACA, ever since its inception — immigrant youth and allies responding to unrelenting attacks and fighting for our livelihoods.
We don’t know what the future holds for the program that has been a lifeline for so many undocumented people, but that won’t stop us from demanding more from the elected officials who promised to protect immigrant communities.
A better future with permanent protections for all 11 million is possible, but not without your support, friend.
Will you make a donation to help us reach our $12,000 goal before the 12th anniversary of DACA? Any amount you’re able to contribute will help us keep up the fight for permanent protections at a time when it’s never been more important.
