John,
As we approach Father’s Day in just a few weeks, I’ve been thinking about the incredible role that fathers play in our lives.
Whether or not he is a biological father, a good man can have a profound impact on those around him through his fatherly, masculine presence.
No father is perfect, but a good father is strong yet gentle, protective, courageous, and humble. I’m convinced the world would be a better place if we affirmed the good qualities we see in fathers and other men on a regular basis.
John, I’d love to hear from you. Do you have a father (or a father figure) in your life who has impacted your life for the better?

When it comes to abortion, fathers are often brushed aside. Or, they enable the abortion and avoid their fatherly responsibility. This is a tragedy. Many men have accepted the notion that abortion is a “woman’s issue” because it’s “her body, her choice.”
Yet the truth is that it’s not just her body. It’s also her baby’s body, which the father helped create. And, killing an innocent human is never a valid choice.
Care Net and LifeWay Research studies (published in 2015 and 2021, respectively) found that the father of a preborn child was the most influential person in the pregnant woman’s life when she was considering abortion.
Men become fathers the moment a child is conceived, not the moment a child is born. Let’s empower men to see the beautiful responsibility they are given by becoming fathers. Let’s allow them to be who they are: protectors, caregivers, and examples of strength for their wives and children.
One thing is clear: Good fathers are necessary. Their presence makes all the difference in predicting the future flourishing of their children.
I look forward to reading your story about how a good father has impacted your life.
