In many of the places where we work, LGBTQI+ people are criminalized, discriminated against by health care providers, and denied access to care. This Pride Month, and every month, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is committed to providing our LGBTQI+ patients with the comprehensive and inclusive care they need to survive and thrive.
Making care more inclusive isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s a lifesaving medical approach.
Through our international LGBTQI+ Inclusion projects, MSF is working to reduce barriers to care that lead to increased rates of illness and death. These barriers include discrimination, stigmatization, verbal and even physical harassment by health care providers—and they can lead people to avoid seeking the lifesaving health care they need.
We believe in treating our LGBTQI+ patients with the deep respect and dignity that all patients deserve.
Our dedicated donor community ensures MSF can provide patient-centered care to the people who need it most—regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexuality.
