Dear john,

This week was the Memorial Day District Work Period, and I was so grateful for the opportunity to spend time with local leaders and advocates across our community and take time to hear about the impact of our recent legislative efforts in Washington.

Throughout the week, I visited with six recipients of Community Project Funding. I was honored to have personally requested funding for four of these projects over the course of the last two Congresses. The projects focused on victims of sexual and domestic violence, serving the Latino community in Gwinnett County and the greater Atlanta metro region, and environmental and public safety support for local government. To learn more about these visits, click here or on the image below to read about the projects taking place right here in our community!

Friday marked the conclusion of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. As a representative of the largest AANHPI community in Georgia, I take great pride in honoring the many contributions that have made America a more perfect union. On Wednesday night, I attended Gwinnett County's Heritage Month event and presented Chairwoman Nicole Hendrickson with a formal recognition that was submitted to the Congressional Record in honor of the evening's celebration.
