It was great to run into my friend, Bill Couser, when he was in Washington, D.C. the other week. Bill serves on my Agriculture Advisory Board, has provided invaluable insight during the Farm Bill process, and remains a strong advocate for Iowa cattle producers and homegrown biofuels. RECOGNIZING 100 YEARS OF THE U.S. BORDER PATROL On May 28th, we recognized 100 years of the U.S. Border Patrol. Our border patrol agents deserve our deepest appreciation for their work to secure our nation's borders. I’ll always stand with our border patrol agents who put their lives on the line to defend our country and protect our families and communities from the drug cartels. 4TH DISTRICT FUN FACT: A SMALL-TOWN SYMPHONY! On Wednesday morning, I was in Shenandoah to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the world’s first Clean Sugar Technology plant.
