We’re reaching out today to share these reactions from top Illinois Republicans to the Trump guilty verdict – this is who we’re up against all around our state in down-ballot races in 2024:

• Darren Bailey, failed GOP gubernatorial and congressional candidate called it a “dark day for America.” 
   
• A rural GOP County Party claims that the verdict would “energize voters like nothing else has before – and in Trump’s favor.”
   
• Congresswoman Mary Miller has been sending out misleading information about what the jurors were instructed to do.

To say that the Illinois GOP have gone full MAGA would be an understatement and that has us worried, team. MAGA is in full blown meltdown over the verdict and they are doing everything they can to save their cult leader. So much so that the donation website WinRed crashed yesterday because of the number of people trying to donate to Trump.

We know that voters all across Illinois will be activated one way or another by this verdict and the prosecution of Trump in other court cases around the country between now and Election Day in November. 

That’s why we’re working in every Illinois County to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. Will you rush a donation before midnight to help us hit our May fundraising goal so we can organize all around Illinois and fight back against the MAGA movement as they use Trump’s court cases to stir up their base?
