Energy Innovation in IL-02

I was pleased to tour Biomass Energy Systems Inc. to discuss their efforts to convert plastics, paper, food, and metals into renewable energy. Projects like these help keep our communities at the forefront of energy innovation.

$5,175,000 For New IL-02 School Buses 

This week, the EPA announced that IL-02 school districts will receive over $5 million for new clean school buses as part of the EPA Clean School Bus Program. Funding from this program will deliver over $48 million to communities across our state. Included in this funding are the following IL-02 school districts:

• $2,760,000 for Lansing School District 158  
• $1,725,000 for Hoover-Schrum Memorial School District 157 
• $690,000 for Hoopeston Area School District 11

I am pleased that the funding I worked to pass in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping our communities.

IL-02 Congressional Youth Cabinet 

The deadline is quickly approaching for rising high school juniors and seniors to join my 2024-2025 Congressional Youth Cabinet. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging leaders in IL-02 to learn more about government and public service. Applicants have until June 14th apply.
