Hi John,
You should never have any doubt that the commonsense majority can make a difference when we make our voices heard.
This week, our movement celebrated a significant victory. Rep. Tony Gonzales, a true profile in courage and an independent leader, narrowly defeated Brandon Herrera in the Republican primary runoff for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District. Despite facing fierce opposition from the far right, Rep. Gonzales emerged victorious, proving that courageous leadership focused on commonsense solutions can prevail.
Rep. Gonzales, who has been a steadfast advocate for bipartisan solutions on issues like border security and gun safety, faced a tough primary campaign against Herrera, a YouTuber known for his pro-gun views and controversial endorsements from divisive figures like Rep. Matt Gaetz and Kyle Rittenhouse. They attacked Rep. Gonzales for his willingness to work with Democrats and for refusing to bend the knee to the party base.
But Rep. Gonzales won – by just a few hundred votes – thanks in no small part to members of the No Labels community donating to his campaign and affiliated PACs and providing grassroots support.
In another exciting development, our friend West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin has announced his decision to become an independent. This bold move underscores the growing frustration with partisan politics and highlights the need for leaders who prioritize the interests of the American people over party loyalty. Manchin’s decision is a testament to the strength and influence of the commonsense majority.
These victories wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and collective effort of the No Labels community, with many in our movement volunteering their time to make calls and rally support for Rep. Gonzales. But our work is far from over.
As spring comes to a close and we inch closer towards Election Day 2024, we need your help to continue supporting the politics of commonsense problem solving for which leaders like Sen. Manchin and Rep. Gonzales are taking a courageous stand. The stakes are high, and we must be ready to stand against extremes on both sides of the aisle.
We need to bring in $10,000 before midnight TONIGHT to meet our May fundraising goal, which will enable us to increase our outreach across the country.
Can you pitch in $10, $25, or even $50 to No Labels right now, John, so we can hit our goal, continue our work across the country, and support leaders who put country over party?
