Five states will hold primary elections on Tuesday, June 4, including Iowa. Iowa is holding primaries for its four U.S. House districts and state legislative seats. Currently, Republicans represent all four U.S. House districts. The state is also holding primaries for 25 of the 50 seats in the Iowa Senate and all 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives. |

New Jersey will also hold primary elections on June 4. The state is holding primaries for congressional and local offices. In New Jersey, state legislative and executive elections are held in odd-numbered years.
Sixteen primaries for New Jersey's 12 U.S. House elections are contested this year—seven Democratic primaries and nine Republican—the most this decade. Additionally, seven candidates, including three Democrats and four Republicans, are running for the state’s open U.S. Senate seat. |
