John,
In 24 hours, the world’s most powerful finance ministers will discuss the global economic response to COVID-19 at the G20.
We can’t have it focus on business as usual, with mega-bailouts for planet-destroying industries like fossil fuels. But that’s exactly what corporate lobbyists are asking for.
That’s why a leading group of scientists and economists is pushing for a historic recovery package that would feature the fight against climate change, the protection of nature, and help for the world’s most vulnerable populations — as part of the solution.
If they go to the G20 alone, corporate lobbyists will try to dismiss them as out-of-touch elites. But if we can quickly get a million signatures to prove that the people overwhelmingly support the plan, we’ll give them critical ammunition — and give the plan a real chance:

A world-leading scientist says there’s 30,000 more coronaviruses just waiting to be unleashed by environmental destruction. It makes so clear how our planetary crises are deeply interconnected, from COVID-19 to climate change to species extinction.
That’s why this expert plan addresses all of these crises, in a way specially designed to make us more resilient by changing how our economy works. It demands that any recovery package focus on:
- prioritizing climate change and protecting nature: including renewable energy and reforestation
- helping the most vulnerable: including debt relief for developing countries and raising income for the lowest earners
- shifting the economy toward sustainability: including eliminating fossil fuel subsidies and introducing a real price on carbon
This is what our planet needs, and it’s what all of us need -- a reboot to our unjust economic system. And we may never have this kind of chance again.
We know that vast numbers of people support this plan, but we need to show it, and fast, to counter corporate arguments. Sign and share everywhere for a sustainable recovery plan:

The head of the world’s vaccination institute says that the more we destroy nature, it becomes a “certainty” that more viruses will leap into humans, with the potential to cause more pandemics. It’s time our leaders face up to corporate destruction of the planet and say “no more”.
