Statement on Trump Court Case:
"Yesterday was a very sad day for American jurisprudence. The Rule of Law, on which our entire system of government depends, requires that the government prosecutes cases based solely on alleged violations of the law, not blatantly because of who the defendant is. Unfortunately in New York the exact opposite of that occurred. Yesterday's verdict showed that sadly, the Rule of Law is less important than politics and power to extreme leftists.
Our Constitution took a back seat to vengeful politics Thursday. For the average citizen, this "law-fare" has forever blurred the lines between the electoral system and the justice system. It is sad to see.
A Soros-funded prosecutor who ran on a platform of "get Trump"[1] [2], a judge whose daughter is raising millions of dollars for Democrats off of the case[3], and a jury in one of the most liberal places in the country convicted President Trump of a “business records” misdemeanor, for which the statute of limitations has expired[4].
That it was spun into 34 felonies is ludicrous, indefensible and barely explainable. This leftist prosecutor routinely lets violent criminals off the hook and endangers his fellow citizens in so doing[5]. The hypocrisy is especially jarring in this case.
No one is above the law, but so too no one is below it. No person except Joe Biden's primary political opponent would have been charged and prosecuted in this manner, on the flimsiest of grounds. Without the dispassionate Rule of Law, we won't have a country.
Having said this, I believe this court ruling will be appealed, and I believe the ruling will be overturned. Whether this happens before the November elections is uncertain at this time.
For now, I am very encouraged by the record-breaking outpouring of financial support for President Trump following the court case.[6] I also believe that we, as Americans, from all political parties who care about the Rule of Law, should pray for our nation, and we should pray for President Trump as he goes through this."

Thanks again for all that you do to help restore common sense to DC.
If you can help by making a donation of any amount today or tomorrow, that would be a huge help.
