Hi folks, it’s Josh Stein, Democratic nominee for Governor of North Carolina. I’m sure there are a million things you’d rather be doing than reading this email, but I promise this will only take a few minutes and it’s incredibly important. Folks, Inside Elections and Cook Political Report have both rated my race a toss-up and polls are within the margin of error – with the latest ones showing us in a dead heat. Pundits are calling this the most contentious and expensive gubernatorial race of 2024. We know this race will be close – statewide races in North Carolina always are. And Republicans’ path to retaking the White House runs through North Carolina too – so they’re already pouring millions in far-right money into our state.

I’ve always worked to help the people of North Carolina build a better and brighter future. As Attorney General of North Carolina, I fight for safer communities, stronger schools, healthier families, and personal freedom, and with you by my side, that is what I’ll do as Governor.

Mark Robinson has voiced his disdain for public educators, calling them “wicked people”, called school shooting victims, “spoiled, angry, know-it-all CHILDREN,” LGBTQ+ folks “filth,” and boasted that he has “AR-15s in case the government gets too big for its britches.” He has said time and time again that he wants a total ban on abortion with no exceptions for the life of the mother or in instances of rape or incest.

Folks, allow me to make this crystal clear: despite Robinson’s far-right extremism, make no mistake, HE COULD WIN. It’s going to take us all coming together to turn the tide of this toss-up race.
