BREAKING NEWS:
A jury of twelve ordinary citizens found Donald Trump GUILTY on all 34 counts in the People of the State of New York v. Trump case of falsifying business records to cover up campaign finance violations during the 2016 presidential election.
It is the first conviction of a former U.S. president in history.
This is an important affirmation of the rule of law. No one individual, no matter how powerful or rich, is above the law. Not even a former President of the United States. Anything less is not democracy.
Trump’s felony convictions will not bar him from running for President, and we will still need to defeat him in November. And as we saw outside the courthouse immediately after the verdict, he will be even more aggressive in attacking the democratic guardrails protecting our institutions.
So this is no time to let up in our efforts to ensure a Democratic majority in the House and Senate. Split $ to my campaign and Dr. Raul Ruiz before our May fundraising deadline at midnight tonight to help defeat Trump and defend the rule of law >> [[link removed]]

Friend, a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up campaign finance violations during the 2016 election.

Twelve ordinary American citizens decided the legal fate of Donald Trump. Proving that nobody — not even a former President of the United States or (pretend) billionaire — is above the law.

And despite Trump’s efforts to distract, delay, and deny — justice arrived for Donald Trump all the same. And by a jury of his peers.

My takeaway:

Our system of justice worked. Our rule of law withstood the immense pressure Trump brought to bear. Notwithstanding the enormous stresses on our democracy, the system is holding. And accountability matters.

Winning the presidency may now be the only thing remaining between Trump and avoiding prison time — either in this prosecution or three others — and he has shown he will tear down the entire system of American democracy to protect himself and return to power. WE MUST NOT LET HIM. Thousands of Democrats are sending in contributions to hold Trump accountable at the ballot box. Join them and split a contribution of $ to my campaign and Find Out PAC today before tonight’s May fundraising deadline. [[link removed]]

Make no mistake, this verdict will only increase Donald Trump’s attempts to discredit the justice system and tear down our democracy. His enablers in Congress will do the same.

We need to call those efforts out for exactly what they are:

A blind attempt to protect a now-convicted felon, and deeply immoral human being, in the headlong pursuit of power.

Because justice prevailed. Justice.

And it’s up to each of us to make sure the justice system continues to hold him accountable. In federal cases in Washington, D.C. and Florida and the state case in Georgia.

And in November, we MUST defeat Donald Trump at the ballot box. That will be the ultimate accountability and affirmation of our democracy.

Thanks for standing up for the rule of law and the cherished legacy of our founders.

— Adam

The son of hardworking farmworkers, Dr. Ruiz grew up in Coachella, CA and learned at an early age that the key to attaining the American Dream is hard work and a great education. In the summer of 1990, Raul walked in the desert heat from business to business in the Coachella Valley asking them to invest in their community by contributing to his education. With each investment for college, he made a promise to come back home and serve his community as a physician. In 2012, he decided to take his service to the community to the next level by running for Congress. Dr. Ruiz needs our help to continue fighting for us in Congress and to flip the House blue this November.
