John,
Donald Trump was already guilty of stacking the U.S. Supreme Court with anti-abortion justices, overturning Roe v. Wade, and jeopardizing our democracy. Now he's a convicted felon.
Let me put it plainly: This isn't someone who's going to protect our fundamental rights. There is only one presidential ticket on this year's ballot that will defend our freedoms, and it's President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
In many ways, last night's verdict was a victory. The American legal system worked how it is supposed to. A jury of Donald Trump's peers was approved by Trump's own team for their nonpartisanship. They heard a fair and thorough trial, deliberated for hours, and ultimately were convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that he was guilty of all 34 charges.
But unfortunately, that's not the end of the story. Polls show that most Trump voters will still proudly vote for Trump even if he's sitting in a jail cell on Election Day. Republican committees announced their best fundraising haul of the cycle directly after the verdict.
