Once again, House Republicans are showing where their true priorities lie — and it’s not with seniors and your earned benefits. 

The House Appropriations Committee Chair Tom Cole (OK-04) announced the GOP’s topline budget numbers for fiscal year 2025 — including at least a 10% cut in funding for Labor/HHS (Health & Human Services). That could mean agencies like the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) would endure a huge spending cut, while Republican appropriators propose to boost military spending by 1%.

As a reminder, U.S. Representative Tom Cole has also introduced legislation in Congress that would create a “fiscal commission” that would have the power to fast-track harmful benefit cuts through Congress.
