Assistant Attorney General Named to ABA?s Top 40 Young Lawyers List?

*LANSING* ? Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is proud to announce Assistant Attorney General Alexandria Casperson [ [link removed] ] has been named to the American Bar Association?s On the Rise ? Top 40 Young Lawyers list. [ [link removed] ] The annual list provides national recognition for 40 ABA young lawyer members who exemplify a broad range of high achievement and legal and community service.?

?I am thrilled that Alexandria has been recognized as one of the top young lawyers in the country,? Nessel said. ?Alexandria is a dedicated public servant who goes above and beyond examining potentially wrongful convictions, assisting Michigan residents with expungements, and diverting eligible defendants out of the criminal justice system and?into employment opportunities. This honor is well-deserved and reflects her exceptional legal talent, tireless work ethic, and commitment to the State of Michigan.??

Casperson currently manages the Job Court [ [link removed] ], Expungement [ [link removed] ], and Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation [ [link removed] ] sections for the Department. She previously prosecuted criminal cases for the State including those involving political and police misconduct. Casperson has been a dedicated public servant her entire career, starting at the Wayne County Prosecutor?s Office in 2015. She is very active in the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and also serves on the State Bar of Michigan Criminal Jurisprudence & Practice Committee. Casperson received her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, and her B.A. in Crime and Social Justice from the University of Michigan.?
