John,

I’m incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from the Wildlands Network community for our dedicated staff and the vital policy initiatives that keep our roads and wildlife safe.

As of today, you have contributed $8,220 toward our board of directors' challenge, which we will match for a total of $16,440.

I speak for all of us at Wildlands Network when I say – THANK YOU!

With your support, you are reducing the risks to motorists and wildlife populations across North America.

For example, in Maryland (the state where I grew up), your gift is working to reduce road impacts on imperiled species like wood turtles and wildlife-vehicle collisions with more prominent species like white-tailed deer. Our unwavering advocacy has led to the Maryland State Highway Administration’s assurance to the legislature that they are committed to applying for a Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program grant this year to pursue wildlife crossing infrastructure. This commitment is a big step forward for connectivity and wildlife crossings in Maryland and beyond.

Your donation funds policies that foster collaboration between state agencies to reduce the impact of roads on wildlife in Maryland by:

  1. Providing support and guidance to the State Highway Administration as it applies for Wildlife Crossings Pilot Program funding this summer.

  2. Creating educational opportunities and events for community members and legislators to increase local buy-in for state investment in wildlife crossing infrastructure.

  3. Continuing to work closely with legislative champions to ensure the State Highway Administration follows through on its commitments as we lay the groundwork for future legislative support efforts in 2025.

With Gratitude!

PS: Don’t miss our upcoming webinar “Driving Change: How you can advocate for wildlife crossings” hosted by our talented policy staff on June 10, 2024.

Check out how your support has made a difference!
