As we get ready to ramp up for the fall, I’m proud to announce Cayla Waddington has joined our Board of Directors.

I want to introduce you to the new Youth Advisor to our Board of Directors, Cayla Waddington.
You may already know Cayla as a brilliant gun violence prevention advocate who frequently shares her story at our events. In fact, I feel confident saying that she was one of the most rousing speakers at our Advocacy Day in Harrisburg on May 7.
If you missed out, here’s some of what she said: “CeaseFirePA has decided to vote me onto their board because unfortunately, they recognize that gun violence has its largest toll on youth. At a time when I was supposed to be planning for prom, getting ready to graduate, and preparing myself for college, I had to spend [my senior] year fearing for my life and fighting to change the system that allows gun violence to permeate every facet of my community.”
In the next few months, we’re going to be ramping up all of our efforts to educate voters about what’s at stake in the fall elections. Lawmakers have already made their choice – to stand up for community safety or to bend the knee before the gun lobby. Now it’s the voters’ turn to choose, and many of our youth advocates, like Cayla, will either be voting for the first time this year or will be motivating others to vote for gun safety champions.
