John, we’re only about five months out from the critical 2024 elections, and time is running out to set Democratic nominees up for success.

If we fail to provide the resources our candidates need, we risk losing the momentum we’ve built and allowing the GOP to maintain their ill-gotten supermajority.

That would be disastrous.

If you missed Roy’s email earlier this week laying out the stakes of defeating the supermajority in the General Assembly, we’re passing it on below. Take a minute to read — then, we need you to step up and pitch in what you can to power the fight. [[link removed]]

Let’s do this,

Team Cooper

Subject: Breaking the supermajority… again

Hi John,

We’ve seen what happens when the NC GOP has a supermajority — they advance their agenda of radicalism despite the will of the people, and they hold up the real work of governing.

Republicans overrode my veto by one vote to pass a dangerous abortion ban and needlessly delayed Medicaid expansion because of their own political infighting. And the only reason they have a supermajority right now is because one Democrat turned her back on her constituents and switched parties.

But we know that Democrats can break the one-vote supermajority, John. We’ve done it before.

In 2018, a wave of Democratic victories overturned Republicans’ veto-proof hold on the Assembly. We invested heavily in races up and down the ballot, and we won. We will win again in 2024 — but we have to ensure our nominees have the resources to succeed.

My team and I are determined to provide Democratic candidates with funds and support over the months until Election Day. But if we don’t meet our own internal financial goals, we may have to cut back.

We’re still short of our $50,000 goal for the month, so I’m counting on you to pitch in whatever you can before the month ends. [[link removed]]

North Carolina is set to be one of the most important swing states in the 2024 elections.

Republicans need to win NC to return Donald Trump to the White House. Meanwhile, Roy is committed to flipping our state blue for President Biden.

Roy is term-limited and can’t run again this time, and our upcoming gubernatorial election is considered the most competitive gubernatorial contest in the country. Meanwhile, Republicans hold just one-seat supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature — we MUST break the supermajorities to prevent the GOP from enacting their radical agenda in North Carolina.

Join Roy in the fight to elect Democrats at every level of the North Carolina ballot this November. Donate today. [[link removed]]
