Half Stripes, All Adorable

Mahameli recently welcomed a calf at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Okapis have black-and-white striped legs similar to zebras, but they're actually the only living relative of giraffes. They're also endangered, and this hoofed little one offers hope for the future of his species. Father of the Herd

There's a new father to celebrate at the Safari Park! Ferdinand, a Cape buffalo, has sired his own little herd of rambunctious calves, and they're busy exploring their big new world with its sprawling savannas. These large ungulates are vital to the health of delicately balanced grassland ecosystems across Africa, which we work to protect through our Savanna Conservation Hub. Venture out on a Wildlife Safari and see if you can spot Ferdinand and his family.

Hike to Hippos
