This Month in Conservation
Clean energy update, Line 5, Green Tie Milwaukee, and more
Hi John,
I’m so excited to give you a progress report on our door-to-door clean energy canvass! We have people knocking doors across Wisconsin to get the word out about Pres. Biden’s Affordable Clean Energy Plan. We’re off to a great start and plan to knock 240,000 doors this summer in Dane County, Green Bay, La Crosse, and the Milwaukee Area.

This is a great opportunity for consumers like you to take advantage of everything from weatherization and insulation to rooftop solar panels. If a friendly person from Wisconsin Conservation Voters knocks on your door–say hi, offer them a glass of water, and learn how you can save money while protecting the environment!
I’m very proud to say that this idea we had just a year ago is taking off across the country. Versions of this canvass are up and running in states like Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. Pres. Biden’s Affordable Clean Energy Plan truly empowers each of us to protect the environment and build a sustainable future. Each one of us can take small actions to be part of this movement.

P.S. As we’re making plans to enjoy the outdoors this summer, consider becoming a monthly donor [[link removed]] . It’s the best way to support the community organizing work that will keep Wisconsin beautiful for generations to come.

Community Listening Sessions
[[link removed]]
Over the next few months, we are hosting listening sessions with communities we work with around the state to better inform how we advocate for priorities in the 2024-25 Wisconsin State Budget. The concerns and hopes Wisconsin communities have for the future is what drives our work.
In June, we’re working with the Wisconsin Native Vote team, part of our sister organization Wisconsin Conservation Voices, to host a listening session with the Milwaukee Native community and on the Menominee reservation. If you’re part of these communities, sign up to join here [[link removed]] .
Our field team is also planning more listening sessions in other regions around the state. Keep up-to-date on these events by checking our events page [[link removed]] or follow along in your email inbox or on social media.

Take Action on Line 5
Enbridge Line 5 is a dangerous and polluting pipeline that is a ticking time bomb.
We need you to tell the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) that they need to stop Enbridge from operating this pipeline. It threatens the Great Lakes and surrounding areas, including the Bad River Reservation, with an oil spill. It's old and falling apart – the time has come to shut this antiquated pipeline down.
The USACE will be holding a public hearing on June 4 at Northwood Technical College in Ashland. We need you to show up and make your voice heard at this critical time.
