Our state legislative session ends on June 6, one week from today. And we are very close on some key bills. Your support in putting pressure on the Assembly has been extremely helpful, so now it’s time to push the Senate as well.
If you have time to call Majority Leader of the New York State Senate Andrea Stewart-Cousins today, asking her to pass the Lead Paint Right to Know Act and the Beauty Justice Act, it could really help us get these bills over the line and onto the Governor’s desk for her signature.
Please call Senator Stewart-Cousins at 518-455-2585 (or 518-455-2715 if that other line is busy) and say something along the lines of: "Hello! My name is [your name] and I live in [your town or city]. I'm calling because we need the Senate Majority Leader to pass the Lead Paint Right to Know Act, bill number S.2353, and the Beauty Justice Act, bill number S.4265, this session. Our communities need protection from lead poisoning and the toxic chemicals found in personal care products. That’s why we need the Senate to pass these key environmental justice bills."
