Dear John,
Last November we were able to share the happy news that plans for a new reindeer farm in Wrexham were refused by the council!
This great success ([link removed]) was, of course, all thanks to the amazing support of you, our valued supporter. By taking action and opposing these cruel plans, you helped to protect reindeer!
But now, we need your help again. It seems the applicants - Tarvin Sands Fishery - haven’t yet accepted that exploitative attractions are not what the public wants, and so have appealed against the decision to refuse the plans. ([link removed])
This appeal is currently with Wrexham Council and we have until 13th June to lodge our objections.

Shockingly, Tarvin Sands Fishery already run an exploitative reindeer hire business at another site.
So if they are allowed to expand their business with these plans, even more reindeer’s lives will be ruined. We have to stand up to this abuse and make sure the council's original refusal for development stands!
We know, like you, that reindeer are semi-wild and belong in the vast Arctic Tundra, not a small patch of land in Wales. Using animals for entertainment is an industry that needs to be winding down, not expanding.
We have written to the council to make it clear that all of the reasons for our original objection still stand, and there really is no excuse for building new facilities to breed generations of unwilling innocent animals to be used as Christmas props.
And now we are asking our you to stand with us again ([link removed]) , to do what you do best....speak out on behalf of animals!
You can use our template letter and online form ([link removed]) to send your objections straight to Wrexham Council.
Alternatively, you can email Wrexham Council regarding the appeal directly at:
[email protected]
If you do not use our template letter, please be aware that any objections that do not include what the planning authority deem relevant will not be considered, so please try to ensure you object to the ecological and local infrastructure impacts, as animal welfare is, sadly, not highly considered during the planning process.

Reindeer belong in the wild, not in a field in North Wales
It is only thanks to your generous continued support that we are able to take action for reindeer, and all animals exploited for entertainment.
On that note, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Spring Raffle. The draw was last night and we have now contacted all of the winners, so if you haven't received an email then sadly you haven't won this time. (Please check your spam folder though just in case). Thank you all for supporting our work.
I will keep you updated of any progress with this campaign. Thank you for your continued support and for taking a stand against animal cruelty.
For the animals,
