The (first) criminal trial of Donald Trump concluded today.

The MAGA movement spent weeks decrying the process as a political stunt, a
partisan effort to stifle Trump’s second presidential campaign.

But a jury of everyday New Yorkers — folks carefully screened by Trump’s
own team for partisanship – found Trump guilty of all 34 charges against
him.

Our justice system does not often treat all people equally. Too often,
poor and marginalized communities across the country are incriminated for
crimes that the wealthy and powerful easily escape accountability for.

Today, we took a step closer to a world in which the rule of law applies
to everybody, equally.
