By now, you've likely heard that Oregon schools will be closed for the rest of this school year. It's hard for families and educators, but necessary to keep everyone safe. Educators are working hard on plans to support continued education through distance learning, and I will do all I can to help - especially when it comes to the equity issues that are so important to address.

We've made some progress: I'm proud to tell you that the bipartisan legislation I introduced to make sure our nation's students can access school lunch during closures is now law.

I'm committed to supporting every Oregonian and every American during this crisis. Right now, that means working together in Congress to:

- fix the rural broadband gap to facilitate teleclassrooms
- provide funding to support schools that are shifting to distance learning
- help fund child care for essential workers, small businesses, and the workforce.
