We hope everyone is staying safe during this ongoing health emergency. The
campaign has taken the step of working from home and canceling all in-person
fundraisers, making grassroots online outreach even more critical than before.
We hope you will stay with us in this fight.
Hello friend,
These past few weeks have been some of the most challenging times our country
has faced in decades.
I will always fight to do what’s best for South Florida and the American
people and I want to tell you how I’ve been fighting for you over these past
few weeks.
* I helped secure crucial federal funds from the Department of Health and
Human Services for community health centers in South Florida
* In a bipartisan effort, my Florida colleagues and I called on the
Department of Agriculture to buy more produce from our local farmers during
this crisis. They have fields worth of produce rotting because they cannot sell
their products during the pandemic
* And I have been hosting virtual volunteer Phone Banks and Text Banks to
check in with our neighbors and share important information and updates on
COVID-19 and the response
My number one obligation as a public servant is to protect the communities I
represent from serious threats, and right now there’s no threat more serious to
our economy and our normal way of life than this global pandemic.
That’s why I’m committed to protecting our healthcare heroes on the
frontlines, helping our small- and medium-sized businesses weather the storm,
and listen to the scientists so we can take the necessary means to stop
COVID-19 in its tracks.
I promise you that I will never stop fighting for South Florida.
Warm regards,
Debbie
