In 2023, more than 36 million reports of suspected child sexual exploitation were submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s (NCMEC) CyberTipline. Amidst this growing need for protection the REPORT Act will equip authorities with additional tools to investigate and catch perpetrators of sex trafficking and other forms of online exploitation.

IJM and global partners collaborate to protect children online
IJM, the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Meta, Snap, the RCMP and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime delivered a crucial law enforcement training in Cote d’Ivoire. How students are mobilizing their campus for justice
In 2023, IJM and Simple Charity partnered to accelerate the impact of IJM's college chapter program. Over the past school year and using campaigns like Threads, Dressember and Race to Restore, IJM college students have raised over $80,000 and introduced more than 400 new people to the realities of slavery and trafficking in just eight months.

After a nine-year court battle, Carina* received justice against her teacher
After several years of legal proceedings, Carina’s parents could not afford the lawyer fees and her case was suspended. The judge suggested they contacted IJM as he had heard of PROBOS, an IJM-trained partner that provides free legal and psychosocial support to victims of sexual violence. In February 2024, IJM took on Carina's case and achieved a 12-year sentence for the perpetrator less than a month later.

Indigenous Honduran women and girls break barriers to accessing justice
Honduras’ femicide rate is one of the highest in Latin America and the Caribbean. In response to the need for increased security, IJM launched its new project in Honduras. In partnership with the Center for Human Development, IJM facilitated a forum where 80 women gathered to discuss the obstacles to accessing protection, justice and identify solutions.

From Canada to the Philippines: how Tryphena joined the fight against the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children
Tryphena's passion for justice and her desire to grow closer to God's work took her to complete a fellowship as an Investigations and Law Enforcement Development Fellow with IJM Philippines. Through this experience she hopes to learn firsthand about the impactful work of IJM in the fight against OSEC and grow in both her professional and spiritual life.

IJM helps the Peruvian National Police produce a user-friendly guide on how to provide trauma-informed care to minors
Through partnering with the Peruvian National Police, IJM identified that they needed training to assist children who have been victims of violence. In August 2023, over 200 representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police and IJM attended the launch of this tool designed to equip police officers to interact with minors at police stations.
