I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

SCOTUS Slaps Down Weaponization of Government

On Thursday, the Supreme Court handed down a 9-0 decision - authored by Justice Sotomayor - to protect the free speech rights of the National Rifle Association (NRA) from assaults by the New York Department of Financial Services who told banks and insurance companies to stop doing business with the NRA.

Today’s unanimous Supreme Court ruling in National Rifle Association v Vullo is a massive blow to the left’s attempt to weaponize the government to throttle the free speech rights of American citizens.

This should be the first of thousands of cases to come—putting Marxist, deep-state bureaucrats back in their place.

I urge the Court to continue down this path.

Holding Hunter Biden Accountable

The Ways and Means Committee released 100+ pages of new evidence from IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler that proves Hunter Biden lied while under oath before Congress.

Hunter lied on February 28th when he said he sent a text to the wrong person about a “commitment” from Chinese energy company CEFC. Hunter only communicated with one person named Zhao, and he was directly connected to CEFC.

A few months after this text, CEFC affiliates began funneling $5 million to companies affiliated with Hunter Biden and James Biden (Joe Biden’s brother).

Hunter Biden lied to Congress when he said he had no control or affiliation with Rosemont Seneca Bohai or its bank accounts.

Joseph Ziegler, an IRS Investigator who blew the whistle on Biden’s two-tiered system of justice, has provided evidence that shows Hunter was the “beneficial owner of a bank account” for Rosemont Seneca Bohai and was able to enter contracts on behalf of the company.

Hunter Biden lied when he said he would never help anyone with a visa.

He was really laying a smokescreen for his work to “provide cover” for a visa for Nikolay Zlochevesky, the CEO of Burisma.

Hunter lied to Congress plain and simple.

I expect the DOJ to prosecute him like has been the standard practice for anyone who lies under oath to Congress.

Bidenflation

The White House, in an attempt to cover up the devastating impacts of Biden Administration policies that drive inflation, released a memo that "extending Trump's tax cuts would be an 'inflation bomb'".

No, Joe! Your trillions in government spending are what drives inflation.

Biden misrepresented inflation statistics so much that even CNN factchecked him. When Trump left office, inflation was at 1.4%. Biden’s spending policies drove inflation up to a peak of 9.1% during his time in office.

Can someone remind Biden that he is the one who admitted his failed Inflation Reduction Act did nothing to stop inflation!

The Biden administration believes believes trillions in government spending is fine, but preventing Americans from facing a tax hike is a problem.

I believe we should stop a tax hike, radically decrease spending, and decrease inflation!

Democrats Praise Trump Energy Policies

While Democrats rush to praise Biden, they ignore that finding natural resources takes years, developing the well, and getting resources online.

It doesn’t happen overnight or over three or four years.

Much to their chagrin, the praise for America’s oil and gas production is really Democrats praising the policies of former President Donald Trump to unleash American energy.

Radicals Wage War on Prayer

Scott Chadwick, City Manager of Carlsbad, California, is trying to limit the First Amendment rights of a volunteer police and fire chaplains from being able to pray in Jesus’ name.

The left wants to silence the church in the name of inclusivity and defaming Christians as harassers.

In 2014 the Supreme Court ruled that chaplains can pray in Jesus name. It’s despicable that Chadwick is infringing on the rights of citizens who care for the spiritual needs of our first responders.

In fact, according to The Institute for Legislative Analysis I have been ranked as “one of the Top 50 in Congress most aligned with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution.”

I’m proud to receive an A+ rating from Students for Life Action!

Every baby has the human right to life and should not be aborted. We must continue fighting for those who can’t defend themselves.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.J. Res. 160, Rep. Chip Roy’s resolution that would put a stop to the Department of Health and Human Services’ new rule that forces taxpayers to pay for sex change surgeries through Medicare and Medicaid and overrules state laws banning gender transition services.

In the District

Congratulations to Clarios on their $16 million expansion in Oconee County! Clarios is a battery solutions manufacturer headquartered in Wisconsin. This expansion will bring new jobs to the District and bolster our excellence in energy production.

A new law in South Carolina will require coroners and funeral homes to check whether unclaimed remains belong to a veteran. If so, the deceased will be given the appropriate military honors upon their burial. I'm glad to see our veterans receive the honor they deserve upon their passing.

Welcome Southern Wall Products to Anderson County! The company is investing $23 million and expects to begin operations in June of 2025. The company markets its products under the name Ruco within the building industry. Congratulations on your expansion!
