That means it’s my job to make sure we have the money to actually pay for all the organizers, ads, office space, and more over the next five months that we’ll need to have a shot at winning this battleground House race.

Maybe you’re asking yourself, “Why is this person I’ve never met emailing me to ask for money?”

It’s a valid question! And the truth is, there’s a hundred things I’d rather be doing today than writing this email. (If I loved sending out emails, I wouldn’t have become a finance director.) But here’s why I had to reach out:

As of last week, we are up against a self-funding, ultra-wealthy GOP opponent — who is backed by deep-pocketed National Republican organizations like the NRCC, which has publicly stated that defeating Andrea is a top priority this November.

We don’t have that kind of big-money firepower on our side, which means we’re relying on the strength of this grassroots team.

So that’s why I’m concerned, but here’s why I’m not panicked: our grassroots team is incredible. It’s thanks to you that Andrea narrowly won one of the nation’s closest elections last time around. And it’s why I think, if we all work as hard as we possibly can, we’ll do the same thing this November.

But the reality of our situation this year is, we need to organize earlier, and right now, there’s no time to waste. I’ve run the numbers, and we cannot afford to fall short tomorrow night. So anything you can give — even just $5 — would go such a long way for our campaign.
