Last month, Katie Porter made headlines by forcing Trump’s CDC to
guarantee free coronavirus testing for every American.

Now she’s making even bigger news.

Katie Porter and her staff just released shocking data showing that
earlier this year, as Trump was being warned about the coming pandemic, he
allowed U.S. corporations to export ventilators and medical masks, leaving
America woefully unprepared.(1)

The only reason we even know about this is because Katie Porter dug up the
evidence and had the political courage to make it public -- and now Trump
and the Republicans are desperate to beat Katie for reelection this
November.

Rep. Porter represents a red-leaning district that had never once elected
a Democrat before her. That’s why we’re ramping up a major campaign to
make sure she wins in November.

The analysis report Rep. Porter released this week, called “Everyone But
Us,” used previously unreported government trade data to show that exports
of ventilators and masks increased dramatically in February, just as more
positive cases were being identified in the U.S.(2)

She found that from January to February this year, ventilator exports
increased by 22.7%. And exports of masks increased by an appalling 1,094%
over the 2019 average. It makes absolutely no sense that the Trump
administration would be allowing these desperately needed supplies to go
overseas when it was abundantly clear we would need them at home.

That’s right: Instead of preparing for the pandemic response, Trump was
helping corporations make a quick buck on desperately needed medical
supplies. And now states have been forced to bid against each other and
FEMA for ventilators and PPE.

Let’s be blunt: Trump’s abject mismanagement of this pandemic is costing
Americans their lives. And we have Katie Porter to thank for shining a
light on some of the most damning aspects of it.

Rep. Porter is the hero we need in Congress. Now we need to make sure she
stays in Congress so she can keep fighting for us. Courage California is
