john, I’d like to introduce you to a truly unique man I have the honor of serving with in the U.S. Senate: Angus King.
Angus represents the “big small town” of Maine, and in 2012, he flipped this seat from Republican to Independent.
You see, Angus is one of those rare birds in Congress who stands outside of the two-party system.
To find out if we shared the same values, I had to take the time to talk with him. And that’s really the entire point of why he serves as an Independent — he wants politicians and voters of both parties to take the time to listen to each other. I can respect that.
After working with him extensively now, I know we do share the same values. And, I’ve found it’s helpful to have an ally like Angus who can help bridge the partisan divide so we can get things done for the American people.
john, Angus is a critical partner of mine in the U.S. Senate, and we can’t afford to lose his thoughtful, compassionate, bipartisan approach to policy making. He just announced he’s running for reelection and I’d like to ask you to support his campaign by splitting a $10 contribution between our campaigns. Can you chip in today?
There’s just too much on the line — from reproductive rights to access to the ballot box — to risk losing Angus and letting Republicans take back the Senate majority. Can you rush a $10 donation today, split between my and Angus’ campaigns, to help us keep a compassionate majority in the Senate?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation to Tina Smith and Angus King will go through immediately:
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my colleague Angus. He’s a good senator, and worth your investment.
