Chadron State Park celebrating 103rd anniversary
Nebraska's first state park, Chadron State Park, is celebrating its 103rd anniversary with a special event June 7-8. Guests can enjoy live music, food vendors, road races, a beer garden and a car, bike and truck show. Other activities include free paddle boat rides and naturalist activities.

Nebraska Game and Parks staffer and facility recognized with awards
A Nebraska Game and Parks staffer and facility were recently recognized with awards from Nebraska's tourism industry.
CJ Zajicek, a customer service professional in the park reservations call center, received an Outstanding Frontline Employee Award from the Nebraska Tourism Commission. Zajicek has worked in the call center since 2004 and is frequently praised by customers for her cheerful, caring and helpful nature. In a world of automated phone systems, she is a champion for personalized customer service.
In addition, Schramm Education Center was voted the Best Attraction in Sarpy County in the Omaha Metropolitan Area Tourism Awards. This state-of-the-art educational center allows visitors to learn about Nebraska's aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems through unique, interactive exhibits.
