TDI adopts a rule concerning terminology describing transportation-related incidents

The Texas Department of Insurance adopts a new rule to implement HB 2190 (88R, 2023), which changed the term "accident" to "collision" in Texas Insurance Code §1952.155 and §1954.056. The new rule highlights that the transition provision in HB 2190, Section 142, expressly states that the changes to the law are nonsubstantive and are intended to clarify rather than change existing law.
