John,

BAD NEWS: CBS reported that the Department of Defense repeatedly fails its annual audits, and legacy defense contractors are price-gouging taxpayers on everything from fighter jets to nuts and bolts.

GOOD NEWS: I voted AGAINST the nearly $1 trillion defense budget, which is loaded with wasteful spending that benefits legacy defense contractors and their lobbyists.

But I was the only committee member to stand up against wasteful spending.

Now, I’m being attacked by legacy defense contractors for being “weak on national security.” Before I explain, will you rush a $3 contribution to my campaign to let me know you have my back? [[link removed]]

Spending [[link removed]] $4,361 for a half-inch metal pin doesn’t make America safe. Unfortunately, I’m not making that up. The Pentagon budget is full of wasteful spending that weakens our ability to confront security threats at home and abroad.

True national security requires smart budgets, not big budgets. It’s time to cut waste from the Pentagon budget and invest in programs that benefit the American people, such as Medicare For All, $10-a-day childcare, and building new affordable homes.

Here’s the sad truth: defense contractors are attacking me because I’m threatening their payday. But I won’t be intimidated. Will you rush a contribution to my campaign today to stand with me? [[link removed]]

Thank you for your activism and your support.

In solidarity,
Ro
