Hello friend,

10 million people in the UK are heavily weighed down by debt. But have you heard any political party during this election period say anything about it yet?

I haven’t.

No political party has announced a serious plan to deal with this injustice. So to make it easier for them, we have worked with people who have experienced debt to put together a plan. A manifesto.

The Together Against Debt People’s Manifesto demands:

  • Fair debt solutions so everyone can have a fresh start.

  • Everyone must be treated with dignity, and protected from exploitation and harassment by creditors, debt collectors and bailiffs.

  • An end to people being pushed into debt just to pay for the food, energy and housing they need.

Thousands of supporters have added their names in solidarity with these demands.

Yesterday, we took the list of signatories and the Together Against Debt Manifesto to party headquarters. Now they have no excuse – they must act.

Here’s me and my colleague Fin delivering the manifesto and the petition to party headquarters in London, and posting the others.

During this general election we have to build momentum and make sure whichever party is elected commits to take action to end the household debt crisis.

We’ll be in touch soon with the next steps of this campaign – together we can win debt justice and fight the household debt crisis.

In solidarity,

Joe, Fin, Zak and all at Debt Justice

Across the world, millions of people’s lives are being destroyed by unfair debt.

But when we act together, we have the strength to win justice and build a fair economy that puts human life before debt.
