House to consider Pro- and Anti-Marijuana Policies
May 30, 2024

Thankfully, several of our conservative friends have crafted policies to choke the stronghold of the marijuana industry.

This week, the House Armed Services released their draft of the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act “NDAA” for Fiscal Year 2025 (H.R. 8070). Buried deep in the 1,000-page bill is a provision sponsored by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) to eliminate the requirement that recruits submit to a marijuana drug test before enlisting. While active-duty servicemen will still be subject to rules that require them to remain drug-free, new recruits can smoke pot before walking into the drug testing clinic.
