Friends and neighbors:
During the recent debate on a comprehensive energy bill, I gave a speech on the Senate floor expressing my concerns about the misguided push toward unreliable solar and wind energy sources. Our state is being recklessly led down a path that increases the risk of rolling blackouts, inflates electricity costs for residents, and sends profits out of Minnesota to out-of-state corporations and foreign entities. We are abandoning reliable baseload power in favor of heavily subsidized "green" sources that simply cannot meet our energy needs. And when windmills and solar gardens need to be cleaned up and disposed of it will be the biggest environmental disaster in Minnesota history with electricity rate payers having to pick up the costs.
This is an anti-science agenda driven by climate alarmism rather than facts and data.

The solution is to embrace sensible, proven energy sources that provide affordable baseload power without distorting the market through mandates. If you haven’t yet, I would encourage you to read the book "Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1500 Years" which lays out the scientific evidence that recent climate changes are part of a natural cycle of cooling and warming – not human activity. We must reject climate change hysteria and return to rational, evidence-based energy policies that are environmentally friendly -- like nuclear, natural gas, clean coal, hydropower, etc. Our future prosperity and reliability depend on it.
Thank you for your continued feedback and engagement. If you have any questions, please let me know.
God Bless,
