Diana Sousa Jepsen worked for more than 30 years in global marketing and communications for F500 companies, including GE, UTC and Covidien and the University of St. Joseph.
Born in Cuba and raised in West Hartford, Diana began her lifelong commitment to community and public services at the age of 10, working as a candy striper in a local nursing home. Since then, she’s served in various charities. She served as Chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus for several years, and is currently the Vice Chair and on the Board of Directors at The Village for Families & Children, as well as a Director of the Elizabeth Park Conservancy, and on the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee.
Diana earned an MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. in Political Science from Drew University.
George Jepsen served in the State House of Representatives and in the State Senate, rising to Senate majority Leader. He was the Chair of the Connecticut State Democratic Party before being elected Attorney General in 2010, where he served two terms.
During 16 years in the Connecticut General Assembly, George worked on a variety of issues including clean energy, civil rights, and gun safety, where his efforts were nationally recognized by the Brady Campaign and the Million Mom March.
George earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, his Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government, and his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College.
We hope you’ll join us in Hartford on June 29th to celebrate these two incredible public servants. You can still purchase individual tickets at this link [[link removed]] or VIP Reception tickets at this link [[link removed]] .
Sincerely,
Nancy DiNardo
